School Closure Policy
Emergency School Closure Procedure
In the rare event of severe weather or other emergency it may be necessary to close the school. These decisions are not made lightly as we are very aware of the disruption to our pupils’ education and the difficulties this causes for families.
Decisions are made on the basis of pupil safety – both from the perspective of physical site safety and on the basis of sufficient staff being able to reach school to ensure safe supervision of pupils. We may, at our discretion, decide to close the school to some year groups and keep it open for others. All children not in school will be able to access remote learning through online resources.
We will do everything in our power to inform you via an Ernehale Flying High Academies (EFHA) Comms text message by 7:30 am on the day; however some situations may not give us enough notice to do so.
Please avoid calling the school office as in an emergency we need the phone lines to be clear.
Severe Weather Procedure
In severe weather, please be aware that school may open later than usual. We will do everything in our power to inform you via an EFHA Comms text message by 7:30 am on the day.
We request that you send pupils with suitable outdoor clothing and footwear with a change of footwear for indoor use.
In the event that some entrances are inaccessible, staff will collect children from the main playground. Registers will remain open until 10.30.
