Equality

At our school, equality, respect and inclusion sit at the heart of everything we do. Guided by our school values — Aim High, Be Our Best, Choose Kindness — we work together to create a community where every child and adult feels welcome, supported and able to flourish. Our commitment to fairness is woven throughout our STRIVE curriculum, which equips children to become Successful, Aspirant Learners with a Thirst for Knowledge, who show Resilience, value Inclusivity, are Vocabulary Rich, and feel Empowered to Make a Difference in their world.

We celebrate the diversity of our school community and are committed to ensuring equality of opportunity for all. We actively promote an environment free from discrimination, where differences are respected and every individual’s strengths are recognised and valued.

We ensure that no member of our school community — or anyone who comes into contact with our school — receives less favourable treatment because of a protected characteristic. These include: race, nationality, ethnicity, religion or belief, gender, marital status, pregnancy and maternity, caring responsibilities, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity or reassignment, age, socio‑economic background, living situation, or spent convictions.

Our commitment extends to all members of our extended school community: pupils, staff, governors, parents/carers, volunteers and members of our local community. We also expect all partners, contractors and visitors to uphold the same principles of fairness, dignity and respect when working with or within our school.

Through our policies, curriculum, staff training and day‑to‑day practice, we work to ensure that every child feels safe, valued and able to be themselves. In doing so, we aim not only to meet our statutory duties, but to live out our values and STRIVE principles in a meaningful and lasting way.
